The Grade 10 community celebrated their Family Day at the Martinez Sports Complex last August 26, 2017 with a fund-raising activity which aimed to support the outreach activities of the school.
Students, joined by teachers and parents, took an active part in this year’s Tiangge by selling their pre-loved clothing and other items.
“Fifty percent of the earnings will be for the outreach activities of parents and teachers,” said Mr. Lamuel Parreño, the Grade 10 Level Coordinator.
The other half shall be used by the students for their respective class activities, he further remarked.
Moreover, the unsold items will be donated to internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Marawi City and to the victims of calamity in Ormoc, Leyte.
“At the end of the day, it’s not what you have or who you become that matters. It’s what others have become because of you,” said Bea Andrea Santa Cruz, a senior.
The event also involved other activities such as the Longest Line and videoke contests.
The Ateneo de Davao Parents-Teachers Community Inc. (ADPTCI) initiated the Family Day with Tiangge to be an annual activity.
It can be remembered that the Grade 10 Batch 2016-2017 raised funds for the Balay Banaag, a children center in Tugbok.
