Educational Service Contacting (ESC)

Government Subsidy

Notice

This school, the Ateneo de Davao University Junior High School, is receiving financial subsidy for the EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CONTRACTING (E.S.C.) and TEACHERS’ SALARY SUBSIDY from the government through the Department of Education.

I. About ESC

Educational Service Contracting (E.S.C.) is a partnership program by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC). In ESC, the excess capacities of certified private junior high schools are “contracted” through slot allocations for students who would otherwise have gone to public schools. Learn more here.

The ESC grant is a one-time application process. New applications may be done in Grade 7 only. Once granted a slot, the grantee is awarded the subsidy (Php 11,000.00) yearly until he/she graduates from Junior High School. There is no need for an annual renewal of application. The ESC grant is paid to the school by DepEd.

Do note that the ESC grant is for Junior High School students only. The ESC grant ends in Grade 10. Grade 10 ESC grantee completers must apply for the SHS voucher program separately.

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL (SHS) VOUCHER PROGRAM: The government subsidy program for SHS is called the Senior High School Voucher Program. For voucher program applications, visit ovap.peac.org.ph or contact the SHS of your choice.
