The Ateneo Swim Team emerged as overall champions in the 32nd Kadayawan Tournament held at Ateneo de Davao University Pool on August 12, 2017.
With sheer talent and grit, the team garnered over thirty medals, the largest number in the said tournament.
The team, prior to the tournament, trained twice a day, contributing significantly to the team’s success.
“We had whole day training everyday,” said Korinne Bianca Trinidad, a participant. “Though not all members of the team were present at each session, the training prepared all of us for the competition.”
According to her, offering each game to the Lord also helped them get past the trials they faced throughout the entire tournament.
these factors, along with the support of their coach and parents, are the reasons why the team members were able to do best in order to be crowned the tournament’s champions.
The said meet is held every year in August as part of Davao City’s Kadayawan Festival.
