Parents of Grade 10 students and several teachers reached out to over 500 pupils of Kabacan Elementary School in Davao City last October 8, 2017.
Spearheaded by the Ateneo de Davao Parents-Teachers Community Inc. (ADPTCI) Grade 10 Level President Mrs. Christie Tapispisan and Grade 10 Level Coordinator Mr. Lamuel Parreño, the outreach program aimed to help the less fortunate in improving their health and education.
Parents and teachers gave out school supplies such as ballpens, notebooks, and pad papers. Medicines and vitamin supplements were also handed out.
Also, the beneficiaries enjoyed their lugaw, bananas, and milk bars which were served as healthy snacks.
Mr. Parreño, in an interview, remarked that his participation in the program is his way of helping out to the neighboring communities of the school.
Furthermore, the funds used to support the activity came from the Tiangge earnings last August 26, 2017. Fifty percent of the said earnings were specifically allocated for the outreach activities of the ADPTCI.
For the past two years, the ADPTCI 10 has been conducting outreach activities for the said elementary school, a suburban public school and a partner institution of the Ateneo.
